Kurt Herzer

Kurt Herzer leads healthcare and life sciences public policy at Anthropic, where he works with policymakers, regulators, and clinical and scientific leaders on how AI is governed and put to use in patient care and biomedical research, and with Anthropic’s product teams on turning policy into product design.

Previously, he was a Senior Advisor at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, where he led data and analytics strategy for quality programs covering 150 million Americans. Earlier, he led population health and clinical innovation at Oscar Health.

Kurt is a physician and health economist who earned his MD and PhD at Johns Hopkins, where he remains on the faculty.
