Phil Truesdale
Phil Truesdale has been at Mayo Clinic for 29 years and currently serves as the Chief Information Security Officer. He leads a talented team of security professionals who strive to effectively manage risk and make the information security program a strategic enabler, not an innovation tax.
Phil joined Mayo Clinic in October 1997 and has worked in a variety of technology areas, starting in technical support and continually pursuing his enduring interest in technology through a series of then new technologies – web application development, connected care and telemedicine, cloud, and information security. In Mayo Clinic’s Office of Information Security, Phil has defined and executed forward-looking security strategies that protect sensitive data and intellectual property while enabling innovation, connected care and frictionless technology use.
Phil continues to be fascinated by the duality of technology being both the solution to and cause of so many modern problems.
Phil holds a Masters of Science Health Services Administration from the University of South Dakota and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Lawrence University and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
